So I didn’t hate Batman vs Superman because I was ready for your shitty shenanigans Zack Snyder. Oh the movie is bad, don’t get me wrong, but it is not as bad as Man of Steel. Hilarious how I enjoyed this awful abomination more than the Snyder fanboys. To think it took this movie being made for you to realize you were wrong that Man of Steel was any good. Those of you who PERSONALLY enjoyed Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman, GOOD. I’m happy when people have a good time at the movies. If it inspires you or entertains you then more power to you, go see it five times in theaters. But the people who actually defended Man of Steel as good, as art, as actually being a good representation of a classic icon, or even as worthy of being seen, this movie is what you deserve. I can’t believe you supported Zack Snyder all this time, and then you actually have the foolishness to ask, “what happened this time?”. What are you talking about? It’s the same movie, a bad superhero film made by a shit director with no purpose. You were the problem, you supported the worst director alive and one of the worst superhero movies ever made. What, did you think Snyder would turn a new leaf and make The Dark Knight? What exactly were you expecting? I hope you learned something from this.
Anyway, back to Batman vs Superman. Things happen for no reason, a lot of characters have no motivation for their actions, blah blah. The fight scenes are actually decent compared to the 0/10 shaky cam bullshit of Man of Steel. Jesse Eisenberg was poorly and wrongly cast as we all knew. He tries to make it work as Lex Luthor but it really is too goofy for its own good. Ben Affleck is a good Batman and Bruce Wayne so there’s hope for further iterations of the character. Gal Gadot is actually a good Wonder Woman, I think she was a good surprise. Lois Lane is useless as she was in the last movie, only doing things to cause more problems, including the dumbest thing in the entire movie. The script for this movie isn’t as bad as Man of Shit, there are some decent things about it. Overall a mess though. The movie cuts around to random events and worse, DREAM SEQUENCES which result in the worst things about the film (Batman shooting and killing people, the fuck?). One of the more sadistic versions of Batman I have seen. The audience I saw it with was noticeably uncomfortable with it. There are some laughs in this movie, both unintentional and intentional, whereas in Man of Steel there were none. Lawrence Fishbourne is actually good in this movie, where he was trash in the last one. The Jesus symbolism was also less obvious in this one than before. To quote a friend, “At least he didn’t go to church this time”.
I can’t even really recite the plot of this film after seeing it because I’m still not sure what it was. I think I was zoning out for some portions.
Too long, didn’t read: Batman vs Superman is bad, but it was expected to be. Man of Steel remains the worse of the two, because that movie could have been great and powerful but was total shit. If you loved Man of Steel then yeah, go see this movie, maybe you’ll like it. I hope you do, because somebody should.
